Delay differential equations describing the maturation of cell populations

The talk will be on certain differential equations that describe maturation processes of cell populations. The basic model can be formulated as a PDE of transport type that has analogies with well-known size structured population models. In the present case integration along the characteristics can be performed and the dynamics can be described by a differential equation with state-dependent delay, the latter due to the regulation of the maturation process by the mature cell population. Results on well-posedness and stability with respect to initial conditions will be presented.
