Floquet theory and eigenfunctions on periodic graphs

We give an overview over how Floquet Theory can be used to determine whether the discrete Laplacian on some periodic graphs has eigenfunctions or not. These eigenfunctions can be chosen to be supported on a finite set of vertices, a phenomenon which can be interpreted as a breakdown of the unique continuation property.
