Monotonicity formulas in potential theory and applications

General Relativity, Geometry and Analysis: beyond the first 100 years after Einstein

We describe some recently discovered monotonicity formulas holding along the level set flow of harmonic and p-harmonic functions, and we employ them to deduce old and new geometric inequalities as well as classification results for static metrics. The results are obtained in collaboration with V. Agostiniani, M. Fogagnolo and A. Pinamonti.
