Random Matrices and Jacobi Operators

May 19 - May 23, 2014

Recent years have seen significant progress in the understanding of asymptotic spectral properties of random matrices and related systems. One particularly interesting aspect is the multifaceted connection with properties of orthogonal polynomial systems, encoded in Jacobi matrices (and their analogs). The workshop will bring together experts who have been working on various relevant aspects of random matrices, orthogonal polynomials and Jacobi operators for a week of talks and discussions.

The aim is to shed further light on the fascinating interaction between these important fields of research, to form new collaborations and to outline new directions for future study.

Participation by invitation only.
