Solitons, Vortices, Minimal Surfaces and Their Dynamics

July 15 - July 19, 2013

The workshop will concentrate on discussing dynamics of solutions of a large class of nonlinear partial differential equations, appearing in condensed matter and particle physics, in material sciences, in biology and geometry. Special attention will be given to highly symmetric or equivariant solutions with high energy concentration and spatial localization, such as solitons, vortices, monopoles, interfaces (or fronts), etc. Such solutions serve as building blocks of general solutions and their dynamics, interactions and ‘microscopic’ progenitors are of great interest.

Participation and presentations by invitation only.
