Deconfining transition for U(1) lattice gauge theory on the Nishimori line

Christophe Garban

Abstract

In this talk, I will explain how to use techniques from Bayesian statistics (more precisely the notion of “group synchronization”) in order to revisit the confining / deconfining transition for U(1) lattice gauge theory on Z^4 (which goes back to works by Guth and Fröhlich-Spencer from the 80’s).
This is a joint work with Tom Spencer.
