Abstract
A central question for many equilibrium statistical physics models is to predict the correlation length scale beyond which the disorder averages out and the system exhibits macroscopic behavior. This is particularly important for the mathematical analysis of problems which involve disorder across many length scales. I will discuss a rigorous renormalization method that gives quantitative upper bounds in situations when one has to renormalize diffusivity, and discuss some applications.
