Abstract
Sequences of noncollapsed Einstein 4-manifolds can form singularities. I shall present an overview of works on the inverse process: How can one desingularize singular Einstein 4-manifolds? Do they always appear in the boundary of the moduli space of smooth Einstein metrics?
