Abstract
Concentration inequalities are of geometric nature and have a long history. In this talk we will discuss the functional version of these inequalities in the context of derivations and semigroups. This leads to problems on Riesz transform in harmonic analysis (also for matrix valued functions). Quite interesting extension of these inequalities in the non-tracial come up in studying noise models in quantum information theory and even lead to applications towards complexity theory.
